I started getting interested in the radio hobby in Italy, my old Country, in 1972 and my first call sign was I2KYY. I founded the radio amateur club in Erba, Italy and I became the first elected president. I have enjoyed dxing and as far as rigs I operate a Kenwood TS-930S and a TS-440S that I have moved to the US with me together with the rest of my VHF an UHF equipment. The same wire dipole that was on my balcony in Italy and that gave me great satisfactions is now in the back garden between two trees behind my home and continues to work and pass also in the pileups
With just 100 watts and no monster amplifier. I could not ask for more!

KE5NIB is the call sign I received after passing the exams in the US. I chose the “vanity” call W5KYY to have something similar to my first Italian call sign and to make it easy to my OMs on the 20 meters to recognize me.This is my dipole, my pride and joy. With something like that a Texas tornado is not a problem.
